Quebec's Mont Tremblant a Winter Wonderland

This lovely Canadian ski resort is reminiscent of a European ski village.

Located in the Laurentian Mountains, just 77 miles from Montreal and 92 miles from the Canadian capital of Ottawa, Mont Tremblant is a veritable winter playground for those who love skiing and other snow-related pursuits.

Looking like a colorful picture postcard scene from somewhere in the Alps, Mont Tremblant ski resort is a favorite among Canadians and Americans and often attracts foreign visitors as well. This top-notch resort has lots of great things to offer.

The Mountain
Skiers of all levels can enjoy Mont Tremblant. The resort offers 625 ski-able acres with 94 trails, which include 16 beginner trails and 31 intermediate ones. As for expert skiers, there are miles of terrain that can be enjoyed by this more experienced bunch.

MontTremblant from a DistanceMont Tremblant ski resort actually boasts four mountain faces for a great variety of experiences. The North Side and The Edge enjoy little exposure to the sun, so the riding conditions are perfect for both boarders and skiers, with lots of natural snow available.

The South Side offers the largest terrain on the resort and provides direct access to the pedestrian village. The newer Soleil Side is in the sun (hence the name!) and is set amidst wooded areas and other places of natural beauty.

The lift system that takes skiers to the top of the mountain can accommodate more than 27,000 skiers per hour, with a choice of gondolas, high-speed quads, chairlifts and magic carpets.

Winter Activities
Mont Tremblant, the highest peak in the Laurentians, is more than just a downhill skiing mecca. The winter months bring the opportunity to enjoy tons of snow-related fun and plenty of other activities as well.

For a real wintery challenge, try your hand at ice climbing. With the help of an experienced guide, you can ascend one of Mont Tremblant's frozen cliffs. What an awesome experience!

Want to explore the beautiful winter landscape from the back of a horse? You can do that at one of the resort's two ranches. Gallop through fresh powder on this winter adventure that's like none other.

If you're a Nordic fan, there are 62 miles of well-groomed cross country trails just waiting to be explored.

Mont Tremblant ski resort has one of the coolest snowparks in North America, according to Ski Magazine. Dubbed "White Evil", the park has 18 acres of ramps, modules, and jumps, and a long, cool halfpipe.

Other winter pursuits include snowshoeing, tubing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, and sleighrides. Check out the Coca Cola Slide and Ride evenings, a perfect family activity, where you'll have the chance to whiz down the glowing icy mountainside with your kids on tubes or GT racers.

Summer Fun
Summer is lots of fun at Mont Tremblant. Enjoy hiking and interpretive nature walks, biking, inline skating, alpine luge, or just strolling around the European-style village and enjoying the pretty sights, great shopping, and fine dining.

The resort also plays host to a number of festivals during the summer months, such as the Beachfest in July and the Music in the Mountains event in September.
