Keystone Ski Resort One of Colorado's Finest
You'll find great skiing and so much more at Keystone Ski Resort.
Founded in 1970, Keystone Resort has, over the past three decades, become a world-class skiing and snowboarding destination. Spanning seven miles along the Snake River, Keystone encompasses three mountains, providing enjoyment for thousands upon thousands of snow lovers each season.
This is indeed one of Colorado's most accessible ski resorts, located just a 90-minute drive from the Denver International Airport. At the same time, you'll seem miles away from civilization, surrounded by the magnificent National Forest.
Beautiful Keystone, with its spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery, receives about 20 feet of snow each year, so the season is long - usually beginning in early November and ending in mid-April.
The Three Mountains
Keystone Ski Resort has 3 mountains to enjoy - Dercum Mountain (named after the resort's founders), North Peak and The Outback.
While each mountain is a little different from the others, in total, they offer 2,870 ski-able acres, 117 trails, and 20 lifts to take guests to the top of the mountains.
The summit elevation is 12,408 feet, with a total vertical rise of 3,128 feet from the base. The longest run, dubbed "Schoolmarm", is 3.5 miles long.
Skiers of all levels will feel at home here as there's something for everyone. Advanced skiers will especially love this resort, as nearly half of the trails are dubbed "most difficult." Easy trails number about 19% with the additional 32% categorized as intermediate runs.
If you enjoy night skiing, you'll be in the right place. Keystone Ski Resort is Colorado's largest night skiing destination, with more than a dozen trails open until 9 pm during peak season.
Keystone's A51 Terrain Park is the largest night park in the state of Colorado and boarders will love this place, recently renovated and made bigger and better.
The resort's ski professionals also offer guided terrain tours in the Bowl areas and groups can enjoy a ride on a Snowcat through the backcountry, where they'll be treated to a fantastic view of the Continental Divide.
Keystone Snow University offers classes for all ages, many taught by former Olympians. Group or private instruction is offered and there are special classes for women only or for families hoping to learn to ski together.
If you don't ski, you can still enjoy snow tubing or exhilarating snow biking at Keystone's Adventure Point, a family fun spot for all ages.
The Village
Keystone's Village also recently underwent a number of renovations and many new restaurants were added, giving guests more than 30 dining establishments from which to choose.
Many offer casual eating while others are highly-acclaimed as excellent fine dining establishments, such as the AAA 4-Diamond Keystone Ranch, where both the food and the restaurant itself are exquisite. Many restaurants and bars offer music and merriment for lots of après ski fun.
In the Village, you'll also find plenty of places to shop for ski equipment, clothing, gifts, local art, and anything you might need to complete your stay.
When it's time to relax, guests travel to the Keystone Lodge to unwind at their wonderful spa. Not only will you find a wide range of spa services offered here but also a sauna, 2 hot tubs, yoga classes, an outdoor heated pool, a steam room, and a variety of exercise equipment.
Other Amenities
Keystone Ski Resort is also home to the largest conference facility in the area and is a favorite with meeting planners everywhere, thanks to its close proximity to Denver, its stunning natural beauty, and the large number of leisure activities that conference-goers can enjoy in their downtime, no matter what season.
Summers at Keystone
Judging by the crowds, Keystone is nearly as popular in the summer as it is in the winter. When the weather is warm, guests can enjoy mountain biking, golf, horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing, boating, rafting, and scenic chairlift rides.
