Arizona Golf Vacations Perfect for Fall
The cooler autumn months are an ideal time to enjoy Arizona golf courses.
Avid golfers love playing all year round and are always searching for that perfect golfing destination, no matter what the season. Arizona golf vacations are especially popular in the fall and spring months, when the temperatures are lower yet still warm and welcoming.
There are a number of locations within the state where one can enjoy a great game of golf and do a little sightseeing as well. You can even combine your golf vacation with other exciting activities for a true multi-sport vacation.
Where to Go
Probably the most popular Arizona destination for golfers is the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. There, guests will find more than 200 courses, some of them among the best championship courses in the country.
The variety of courses in the greater Phoenix/Scottsdale area makes playing in this area quite interesting. Guests will find traditional lush, green courses like those found through much of the world, but can also experience the best in desert golf. Some courses are even tropical, much like the ones you might play in Florida.
While on your Arizona golf vacation, many courses that you'll experience are designed by the best in the business. It's not hard to locate a course that's been crafted by the likes of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, or Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
However, even novices will be comfortable in this part of the state. Because of the huge number of courses, there's something available for players of all skill levels.
To the south, Tucson also heartily welcomes golfers. While the city may not boast as many courses as Phoenix, there are nearly two dozen terrific courses just waiting to be enjoyed on your next Arizona golf vacation.
Fall in Tucson is just beautiful and you'll want to stay on these fine courses all day, enjoying their well-stocked pro shops and fine clubhouses with great restaurants and lounges.
Many of Tucson's golf courses have also been the site of annual PGA championships. Not unlike Phoenix and Scottsdale, the courses here are a mixture of desert and traditional.
More recently, Sedona has been added to the list of cities where you can enjoy a fun golf vacation. Golf courses are growing in number in this northern Arizona city which is best known as a center for those interested in New Age spirituality.
Golf Schools
Hoping to improve your game while you're on vacation? No problem. Arizona is full of year-round golf schools staffed by some of the best pros in the business, just waiting to offer pointers on how to become a better golfer.
One particularly popular school is sponsored by Golf Digest Magazine and has won numerous awards and accolades since it opened more than three decades ago.
Golf Packages
It's easy to book all the particulars of your golf vacation in just one phone call or click of a button by choosing a golf package. Such packages usually include accommodations, pre-determined tee times at selected courses, and even reservations for dinner or other Arizona activities.
Packages are the best way to be sure that all your Arizona golf vacation needs are met before you depart for your trip.
